Offline for a Bit
We are currently in Iquitos, which is the most populous city in the world that cannot be reached by car. You can only get here by plane or boat. That said, there are over 300,000 people here and it’s much more developed than I would have guessed. livejamie: Police say a gang in the Peruvian jungle has been killing people and draining fat from the corpses to sell on the black market for use in cosmetics, although medical experts say they doubt a major market for fat exists. The Commonwealth of Virginia’s Department of Emergency Management (my old employer!) is using Tumblr to get out news about flooding, power outages (90,000 now), and road/tunnel closures from the crazy amount of rain the Commonwealth is getting. Nicely done VDEM!
